In order to open up to wider creative possibilities, TAMAWA quickly decided to call upon emerging design talents such as BIG GAME, belgian designers SYLVAIN WILLENZ and ALAIN BERTEAU and jeweller and silversmith NEDDA EL-ASMAR.

By bringing its own understanding and by translating in its on way the concept of the ‘mono-form / mono-material’ of the Bakelite ball, each designer has enriched the collection with unique items- Nedda El-Asmar, in creating memory form jewellery, Big Game with the BALL LAMP, Alain Berteau with a USB key and Pepper and salt mills and Sylvain Willenz with his coat-stand LOCK, wall hooks PIFF and suspension lighting RAY.

Architect and designer from Brussels, ALAIN BERTEAU has developed his activities on several scales, using the same approach in designing buildings, interiors, furniture and objects. His creations are simple yet versatile and intense, they question the typologies and propose solutions to new behaviors. He collaborated with Tamawa with the USB key and two salt & pepper mills.

BIG-GAME is a product and interior design studio created in 2004 by Augustin Scott de Martinville (French), Elric Petit (Belgian) and Grégoire Jeanmonod (Swiss). They created the first object for the Tamawa home collection : a white glass globe resting on a ball the same size of Bakelite, the Ball Lamp.

NEDDA EL-ASMAR studied jewellery design and silversmithing at the Royal Academy for Fine Arts in Antwerp, and she completed her education at the Royal College of Art in London. She works for renowned names as Hermès, Puiforcat, Eternum, Gense and Villeroy & Boch. She enriched the Tamawa collection in creating memory form jewellery.

HUBERT VERSTRAETEN received his training in Pforzheim (Germany) and opened his workshop in Brussels in 1999. He distinguishes himself from jewellery designers by adopting the approach of applied art in order to come close to a formal language that uses techniques from serial production (3D, electro-erosion, injection moulding) and contemporary plastic materials such as polycarbonate and aramith. Founder of Tamawa, he never stops enriching the collection with his own creativity and his permanent search for emerging design talents.

Established in 2004, SYLVAIN WILLENZ is an industrial design office based in Brussels. With an approach to design characterized by a clear inquisitiveness for products, industry and processes, Sylvain Willenz and his team, work on various projects ranging from lighting to products, IT electronics and furniture. His creativity and sincerity contributed to the coherence of the Tamawa collection, with his coat-stand LOCK, wall hooks PIFF and suspension lighting RAY.
